Trzymając się swojego heavy metalowego kręgosłupa, panowie postanowili trochę poeksperymentować z innymi stylami (wszak w początkach swojej działalności mieli do czynienia z inną muzyką…), dlatego też stworzyli płytę oryginalną, prezentującą tradycyjny heavy metal w nieszablonowy sposób.

Niezawodna sekcja daje z siebie wszystko, by numery miały przepotężne, ciężkie brzmienie, by miały niezbędną dla takiej muzyki energię.

**********ENGLISH VERSION**********
It took a while from the release of the album to the moment when it landed in my hands, so I had to scrupulously avoid all the websites where I might come across a review of this album. I was very anxious not to „set” my own perception of this CD according to the data provided by other writers. All in all, I managed, apart from one review that I had to read for the so-called obligation.

I wanted to perceive this music on my own, because first of all I have been following the group’s activity since the mini-album „Age Of The Immortal” came to me and it caused me great joy, because it brought the music I like and needed. And the fact that it was music created by a Polish band doubled this joy. While the EP was a nice beginning, but still a beginning, and therefore it was difficult to predict how the band would handle the full-length album, the official debut album exceeded all my expectations. A new vocalist appeared, and the band got new energy, thanks to which the album confirmed that we are dealing with an excellent band that treats their work seriously.

The disturbing news about vocalist Igor leaving the group sowed the seeds of anxiety again. Because he was a man with a great voice, perfectly complementing DW’s music. Therefore, finding a replacement could not be a simple matter. I was even concerned that the band might suspend their activities. Fortunately, negative visions were dispelled by the band, which welcomed a guest in their ranks, who – if only there was time – would probably take the role of frontman in several other bands, playing metal in its various varieties.

Because, as is well known, Mateusz has enormous vocal abilities, and he is a real workaholic who is not afraid of any work. Therefore, it was known that the effect of joint work, a battle-hardened band and an exceptional vocalist, could only bring an excellent effect. And of course the album is the best proof of that. I don’t know how much Mateusz was involved in the preparation of the compositions themselves, but his influence on the vocal lines is very clear. Such – let’s not be afraid of the word – personality along with some (obviously) vocal manners had a significant impact on the compositions themselves. You can hear that this is a completely different band than the one from the previous album.

The vocals are different, more varied, reaching hard rock on the one hand and even black/ death metal on the other. Of course, Mati would not have done it himself, had the band not wanted such music. And – as you can see – the band wanted it too. Holding on to their heavy metal backbone, the gentlemen decided to experiment a bit with other styles (after all, in the beginning of their activity they dealt with different music …), therefore they created an original album, presenting traditional heavy metal in an unconventional way.

Because, of course, classic heavy metal is still the domain of Divine Weep’s achievements. These nine numbers, which are on the CD, are able to please every fan of such music. The individual compositions sparkle with great guitar riffs, licks and solos. The reliable section does its best to give the tracks a powerful, heavy sound, to have the energy necessary for such music. The compositions, combined in every respect, were also embellished with various vocals, and this made DW’s music to a different level, became less homogeneous, more diverse, and therefore more interesting.

If you are interested in how the band worked on the album and what the lyrics are about, I encourage you to reach for the new issue of Metal Up! Magazine, in which the band talks about these matters in detail. I will write only one now. The new incarnation of DW suits me very well. The new album differs from the previous ones, it presents a more mature band, aware of its possibilities, but also looking for new ways of development, incl. by incorporating elements of other styles into their music that definitely enrich the band’s compositions.

If you haven’t received this album for Christmas, ask for it for the next occasion. These 45 minutes are one, but what an excellent lesson about how to play good heavy metal nowadays.
